Discover Huddersfield – Celebrating Civic Initiative
Huddersfield was granted its Charter as a Municipal Borough on 7 July 1868. To mark this anniversary, local historian David Griffiths will lead a tour of key landmarks of early (and later) civic initiative, recalling the wide range of public services pioneered by the Corporation. This walk will be less than two miles and there is a charge of £3 per person.
To take part in this guided walk, meet outside the entrance of Huddersfield Library by 10:30am. For further details, see the Discover Huddersfield Guided Walks Programme (PDF).
If you missed this particular event, you can find the free Civic Celebration Trail guide at various locations around the town, including the Railway Station, Heritage Quay and the Public Library.
